Revitalization Plan

THE STRATEGIC ENVISIONING PROCESS INVOLVES FIVE PHASES:

1. THE FIRST STAGE IS ABOUT PREPARING THE CHURCH FOR THE PROCESS OF STRATEGIC ENVISIONING. KEY GOALS:

  • Forming a Strategic Leadership Team (SLT)
This is the group of known leaders within the church who will guide and lead the Strategic Envisioning process.

  • Conducting the Church Ministry Analysis (CMA)
This is a comprehensive snapshot-in-time that analyzes four “vital signs” of your church.

  • Laying a Spiritual Foundation
TMG believes that our strategic process is fundamentally a spiritual journey, and therefore heart-work must be done before any strategic work will be effective.

2. THE SECOND STAGE IS ABOUT PRIORITIZING THE CHURCH’S IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT. KEY GOALS:

  • Developing or re-confirming the Mission statement – Your church’s mission statement will determine the direction and focus of the church.

  • Defining the church’s actual and aspirational Core Values – Your church’s core values bring clarity to your motivations for ministry.

3. THE THIRD STAGE IS ABOUT PROCESSING THROUGH SIX KEY AREAS OF STRATEGY. KEY GOALS:

  • Develop critical strategies in key areas that are in alignment with the church’s identity

  • Rather than looking at individual ministries, the church processes through strategy areas that impact every ministry of the church.

  • Begin vision formation through strategy

  • TMG believes that vision and strategy are two sides of the same coin; Vision development occurs alongside strategy formation.

  • Plan for and initiate strategy implementation

  • Implementation must be prioritized from the beginning in order to be effective.

4. THE FOURTH STAGE IS ABOUT TRANSLATING STRATEGY INTO VISION.

KEY GOALS:

  • Craft & present Vision Statements around key strategies – Teams refine and present their Vision for their area of implementation.

  • Leadership develops a unified, cohesive Vision for the future – The senior leadership crafts a clear, compelling, and unified Vision for the church, based on the collective visioning work of empowered teams.

5. THE FIFTH STAGE IS ABOUT PUTTING STRATEGIES INTO PRACTICE AND PURSUING THE VISION. KEY GOALS:

  • Create performance goals – Well-crafted performance goals help ensure the church is staying on track with core strategies.

  • Commit to implementation practices – TMG has time-tested methods and guidelines for successful implementation.

  • Develop effective tactics for evaluation – Effective evaluation is the “teeth” for performance goals and implementation.
