I Can't Believe I Ate the WHOLE Thing!

Updated: Dec 14, 2019

When you have seen as many Thanksgivings as I have, you pretty much know what to expect. Football, Food, Family, Friends and Food. When we finish that big meal we hear people say that they will never eat again, just to find them a few hours later making a turkey sandwich and washing it down with a slice of pie. When I was growing up, my granddaddy used to ask me why I let him eat so much. I never understood the question, in the first place, I would never had tried to tell my granddaddy what to do, nor would I have gotten between him and his plate. People know what they should do, the problem is that many times we do not have the courage or the will power to follow through and do not only what is right, but what is best for us. Drink a glass of water and have a salad. It worked for Daniel. The right way comes with many great and wonderful consequences.

We need to realize that there will be a day when our decisions that we make today will have consequences. Whether it is stepping on the scales, having a doctor tell you that you need to change your life style and get healthy, when you are out of sick days and cannot miss work, or when you stand before Jesus and are judged by your lack or response to His leading you to follow Him as Savior.

I believe that many understand that they are choosing to ignore Jesus for the same reasons that they refuse to listen to the doctor, or eat healthy or anything else that they need to subtract or add to their lives for their own benefit. People are far too interested in instant satisfaction and really do not want the best for themselves if it means having to deny the pleasures of today. Eternity is FOREVER, hell is real. Please trust Jesus today and do not wait for a better day, there is no better day than today to follow Jesus.

" For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." 2 Corinthians 6:2. We will all stand before God one day, your life is valuable, God loves you and wants the best for you. Trust Jesus as Lord and Savior today and follow His plan for your life.
