Is My Mirror Broken?

Updated: Dec 14, 2019

Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered who is looking back at you. Many are not happy with the reflection that they see. People don't like their nose, chin, waist size, hair or lack of it, and the list continues. People are very critical of themselves and low self-esteem seems to be the norm rather than the exception. Hollywood would tell us that we must have the perfect body, smile and a nice tan year round in order to find that perfect someone that looks the same. The great news is that no one is perfect, your mirror tells you the truth and you don't have to be the fairest of them all in order to be valuable and loved by God.

God desires for His people to understand that they were created in the image of God and that Jesus is the only perfect person to have ever walked the earth. We must all remember that God created you and gifted you just as He decided. We should never call anything that God created as junk. No, you are not perfect nor must you be, but we need to strive to live the life that Jesus calls us to live.

God loves you, He created you, He knows you and has a perfect plan for your life. We must look to His perfect plan and past our shortcomings and allow God to use us in spite of our shortcomings. Yes, look in the mirror everyday, shave, clean your face and please brush your teeth, but then be content with the person that God created you to be. Thank Jesus for loving you and dying for your sins, but then make your life count by seeing the future with hope to know that God is already there.

Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 1:26-27
