Still cooking

Updated: Dec 14, 2019

I am not a person who normally post pictures of each and every meal that I eat, but I cannot help myself today since it is Thanksgiving and most people will be eating turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread and pumpkin pie. I left out the sweet potatoes because I do not like them even though I have to try them every year because my wife does not understand that anyone could not like

sweet potatoes. So I post a picture of my turkey surprise. It is a surprise because it is under cover and has yet to be revealed. It is in the oven and is still cooking, so I cannot carve it, touch it, or eat it. Once it is ready we will cut it and gobble the turkey up just like everyone else and then take our nap, just to wake up to eat pumpkin pie.

When people look at their lives, they are similar to the turkey in the oven. You are made in the image of God, but your story is still being written and there are many times in our lives that we must realize that God sees the outcome, but we just see ourselves in the heat of the trial and issues of life. Please be thankful for the difficulties in life because they drive us to see Jesus in a new way. Be thankful that God is working in your life and that He desires to change you for the work that He has prepared for you.

We read in Ephesians 2:8-10, "For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them." Our calling is to do the work of God and He allows challenges in life to mold us into useful instruments in His hand.

We do not have a red indicator popup that tells us that we are complete, but we also know that God will continue to work on us all the days of our lives. "Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work." 2 Timothy 2:21 Stay thankful and remember that God loves you and is working on you for your good.
